PetroChoice is driven to deliver the highest level of service and quality products to our customers at every opportunity. We believe that in order to do this we need to not only have the best product mix, drivers, sales team, customer service team and warehouse personnel, we need to make sure that as an organization we get the order right every time. In fact our Operations mantra is “We want the right product, at the right place, at the right time…..every time.”
Maintaining a world class Product Integrity program is not easy and it takes active participation from whole company to succeed. This year PetroChoice is rolling out our newly developed PetroChoice Product Integrity Manual (PPIM). This manual meets or exceeds the requirements from our suppliers and customers and helps us establish consistent operations to reach the goal of no Product Integrity (PI) incidents. We will begin the roll out of this program in early March and expect to have great results moving forward.
We will also be implementing bi-weekly training on the PPIM with our internal teams. This will impact a broad range of team members including our managers, drivers, operations (loaders, warehouse, etc.) and office staff. One of the key components of this program is our Stop Work Authority (SWA) or “Stop Button”. Every team member is empowered (and required where appropriate) to “Push the Stop Button” in the event a potential safety or PI issue arises. We have many locations where this is successfully practiced and when the stop button is pushed, all attention is given to correcting the issue at hand immediately.
Similar to our commitment to safety, our PI program requires everyone’s support to be successful. Rick Renner, who develops our Product Integrity program, sums it up well: “This shouldn’t be viewed as something we have to follow, but as the basis for how we conduct our business.”
